Neer Moru is a spiced buttermilk drink which is very popular in South Indian households. We even prepare it for special occasions like Tamil new year, Ramnavami etc. It is a healthy drink which helps to keep your body cool and much better than any aerated drink available in the market. This drink also helps in digestion if consumed after a a heavy meal as it contains ginger.
Check this quick video to make Neer Moru!
I usually make it almost everyday during summer season but I love it so much that I don’t mind a glass of Neer Moru even in winters. In good old days, this drink used to be made with liquid which is leftover after churning butter from cream. Nowadays, we get ghee and butter easily available in the market and no one takes the effort to make butter at home. You can still make it using yogurt and you will love it! This is also very similar to Masala Chaas I had earlier shared in my blog with slight variations. So, sharing the recipe and hope you all enjoy making it…
