Uttapam is an Indian savory pancakes made with a combination of rice and white lentil. It is a popular breakfast in South India and you will find many variations to it. They are thicker than Dosa and soft and spongy. I make plain uttapams too but I was in a mood to make Onion tomato Uttapam today.

how to make uttapam

I have used idli batter to make this Onion tomato uttapam. Click here for the recipe for idli batter. I have added only onion and tomatoes but you can also add vegetables like carrot, capsicum, sweet corn to make various types of vegetable uttapams. So, sharing the recipe to make these healthy savory pancakes. Make them for your family and enjoy.. I have served them with carrot coconut chutney. Click here for the recipe.

After pouring the batter, lower the gas and cook until the top side looks cooked.
