Mango season and prefect time to make some delicious mango kulfi. Only yesterday I was talking to one of my friend who wanted the Mango kulfi recipe and it struck me that I have not made any kulfis this season. I had bought few cute matkas a week back and decided to make some matka kulfis.

Matka kulfi is a famous Indian dessert served in earthen-wares. I’ve earlier shared a recipe for Kulfi Faluda and this time I thought of making some Mango Kulfis. Its mango season and I had few ripe Alphonso mangoes in stock. So, sharing the recipe for mango Kulfi with you and hope you enjoy making it and enjoying with family.

Mango Kulfi Recipe

Make delicious kulfi in minutes with fresh mango!

Ingredients

  • 2 Alphonso mangoes
  • 500 ml full cream milk
  • 1 tbsp Corn Flour
  • 1/2 cup Condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Broken Assorted Nuts Almonds, Pistachios, Cashews - 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Scoop out the flesh out of the mangoes and blend it nicely to make mango puree.
  2. Mix cornflour in 1/4 cup warm milk and keep it aside. Make sure there are no lumps.

  3. Boil the remaining milk in a heavy bottom pan and bring it to boil.
  4. Reduce the flame and add cornflour milk, condensed milk, sugar and mix well. Simmer it till it starts thickening.
  5. Remove from the flame and let it cool down completely.
  6. Add the mango puree and mix it well. Add assorted nuts and pour this into matkas or Popsicle tray or simple ice-cream box and freeze it for 4 hours or till it sets properly.
  7. Serve it chilled and enjoy!!

Recipe Notes

You can use any type of mangoes but adjust the sugar according to your taste.

Priya, I made kulfi a few days back although I didn't add the cornflour, thickened the milk and added condensed milk, they turned out nice although they weren't as creamy. They were icy..if you know what I mean? Did that happen because of not adding the cornflour.. ??

Yes adding cornflour helps in binding and making it more creamy. You can use riceflour too in place of cornflour
