Ven Pongal is a popular breakfast in Tamil Nadu and also made for Pongal festival in South India. It is mainly made with rice and yellow lentil served with Gotsu or sambar and coconut chutney. I have cooked directly in a pressure cooker. My family loves this dish and usually we serve with gotsu for breakfast. Its easy and a healthy option for breakfast.

This sounds delicious. Not something the English would consider for breakfast though. I'd love to eat it in the evening.
