Instant Chakli Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice flour
- 2 tbsp Roasted gram flour
- 1 tbsp Sesame seeds
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- Groundnut oil for deep frying
Instructions

Add gram flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, sesame seeds, turmeric powder, salt in a mixing bowl.

Add 2 tsp hot oil and mix well. The texture of the flour will become crumbly.

Grease a plate and chakli maker with oil.

Add a portion of dough in the chaklimaker and use the star plate as shown above in the video. Close the machine and slowly move in a circular motion to form a chakli.

Heat oil for deep frying in a frying pan. To check if the oil is warm, drop a small piece of dough into the oil. If it comes on top immediately, the oil is warm for frying.

Slide chakli for deep frying on medium heat.

Drain the excess oil and transfer in plate. When it cools down completely, transfer in a steel or glass storage air-tight container.
Recipe Notes
- If the chakli breaks while pressing the chakli maker, add a spoonful of water to the dough and knead again.
- If the chakli is not crisp, you can add more 1 tbsp of maida and knead again.
