Pottukadalai Coconut chutney is a side dish which you can serve with idli, dosa, uttapapm etc. I served it with idli for breakfast. Pottukadalai means roasted gram and it is extremely good for health too. It is a great source of protein and fiber.

Pottukadalai Coconut Chutney Recipe

Cook Time 5 minutes
- Pottukadalai/Roasted Gram - 1cup
- Freshly grated coconut - 1 cup
- Green chillies - 2
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
- IDHAYAM sesame oil - 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Add coconut, roasted gram, green chillies, and grind it coarsely.
Now add 1 cup water and salt to taste.
Grind it to a smooth chutney.
Add oil in a small frying pan.
Add mustard seeds and let it crackle.
Add asafoetida and curry leaves and remove from flame.
Add this tempering to the chutney, mix well and serve.
