Cutlets are a simple and popular snack and this time I tried it with some Colocasia/Arbi/taro. I like Colocasia spicy and roasted and that’s why thought of using it in cutlets and it came out really well.
Ingredients:
Boiled and mashed colocasia – 2 cups
Bread slice – 1
Finely chopped onion – 1/2 cup
coriander leaves
Red chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
chat masala – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida
Bread crumbs
Salt to taste
Cooking Oil
Method:
Soak the bread slice in water for few seconds. Drain the water and mash it. Take a bowl and add mashed colocasia, coriander leaves, mashed bread, onion, salt, red chilly powder, chat masala, turmeric powder, a pinch of asafoetida and mix it well. Heat a tawa or frying pan and add little oil. Take the mix in your hand and make a ball of it. Flatten it and dip it in bread crumbs. Now place it on the tawa and let it fry for few minutes on medium heat level. Toss it and add a little oil and let the other side also fry. When it starts getting golden brown remove it from tawa.
You can serve it with some tomato sauce.
