Crunchy spicy Bhindi ke pakore are a delight to eat with a cup of ginger tea on any rainy day. You just feel like hogging the whole plate. The okras are filled with spices, dipped in gram flour batter and deep fried till they are golden crispy.

Name it vendakkai bajji or bhindi ke pakore or bhindi pakora or as you wish but do try it out as it is simply delicious! Enjoy this snack on any rainy day with ginger tea. Serve it hot with some tomato ketchup or chutney.
Bhindi ke pakore
Ingredients
- 14 Okra/Vendakkai
- 1/2 cup Besan / Gram Flour / Chickpeas Flour
- 2 tbsp Rice flour
- 1 tbsp jaggery
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder – 1 tsp
- 1/8 tsp Asafoetida/Hing
- 2 tsp Chaat masala or Garam Masala
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Salt to taste
- vegetable oil for deep frying
Instructions

Add besan, rice flour, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and salt in a bowl. Add water little by little and make a smooth batter. add 1 tsp hot oil in the end and mix well.

In another bowl, add chaat masala, salt, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, asafoetida, red chilli powder, jaggery, salt to taste and mix it well to make a mixture of spices and keep it aside.

Wash and dry the okra. remove the sides and slit it lengthwise. Fill the spice mixture into it and keep it ready.

Heat oil in a frying pan and check if oil is ready. You can check by dropping a small ball of the dough in the hot oil and if it immediately comes on top, oil is ready.

Dip the okra in the batter and fry it in medium heat till it turns golden brown.
