An Easy Tomato Chutney Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup Coconut grated
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 2 tbsp Roasted gram
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/8 tsp Asafoetida / hing
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp Sesame Oil

Instructions

  1. Add 1 tsp oil in a frying pan.
  2. Add chopped onions, green chillies, tomatoes and saute for few minutes. Transfer the content in a bowl and let it cool down.
  3. Add grated coconut, sauteed onion-tomato, roasted gram in your blender and blitz it.
  4. Transfer it into a bowl and add salt to taste.
  5. Add 1 tsp oil in a small frying pan and add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds crackle, add asafoetida and add this tempering into the chutney.
  6. Serve it for breakfast with dosa, idli, uttapam etc.
