  • 100 gm Paneer/Cottage cheese chopped into small cubes
  • 1 cup Besan / Gram Flour / Chickpeas Flour
  • 1/4 cup Rice flour
  • 1/8 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Ajwain/carom seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala
  • vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Add besan, rice flour, carom seeds, baking soda, red chilli powder and salt in a bowl.

  2. Add water little by little and make a batter for the pakoras. The batter should not be runny and a little thick so that they coat easily over paneer.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium flame.

  4. Dip paneer cubes in the the batter and fry it in oil.

  5. Remove from the pan, drain the excess oil.

  6. Sprinkle chaat masala and serve it.

Recipe Notes

Make sure to check if oil is ready. You can check by dropping a small ball of the batter in the hot oil and if it immediately comes on top immediately, oil is ready for deep frying.
