Ingredients
1/4cupTamarind/Imli
1/2cupGrated Jaggery
2tbspRaisins
1tbspgrated ginger
Salt to taste
1/2tspRed chilli powder
1/2 tspBlack pepper powder
1/2tspcumin seeds
1/4tspCinnamon Powder
1tbspVegetable oil
Instructions
Soak tamarind for 30 minutes in some warm water. Now drain the water in a separate bowl by removing the pulp and seeds.
Soak raisins in some warm water for 15 minutes. Drain water and blitz the raisins and ginger in a blender.
Take a heavy bottom pan and add oil to it. When oil is warm add cumin seeds and let it crackle.
Now add the tamarind water and grated jaggery to it. Mix it well and cook it for few minutes.
Add the raisin-ginger paste to it and add salt, cinnamon powder, black pepper and chilly powder and mix well. Cook it for few minutes till it starts getting thick. Transfer it into another bowl and let it cool down.
You can use this chutney for any starters like cutlets, samosa etc.
