Bread Pakora Recipe

Ingredients

  • Bread slices - 4
  • Besan / Gram Flour / Chickpeas Flour - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 1/4 cup
  • Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Hari Chutney - 4 tbsp
  • Idhayam Mantra Groundnut oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Add besan, rice flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Add water little by little and make a batter for the pakoras. The batter should of pouring consistency but not be too runny.

  2. Now take one slice of bread and divide into equal 4 triangles.
  3. On one side of the bread triangles, spread mint chutney.
  4. Join two pieces of triangles and keep them ready.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan and check if oil is ready.
  6. You can check by dropping a small ball of the dough in the hot oil and if it immediately comes on top, oil is ready.
  7. Dip triangles into the batter and coat it evenly with the batter from all sides. Slide them carefully in hot oil and deep fry them. Remove from the pan and drain the excess oil.

  8. Enjoy it hot with some imli chutney and ginger tea!
