Mangalorean Buns Recipe

Ingredients

  • Ripe Banana
  • 1 cup All purpose flour /Maida
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds/Jeera
  • 2 TBSP Curd
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • Idhayam Mantra groundnut oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Mash banana in a mixing bowl.

  2. Add sugar, cumin seeds, curd, baking soda, salt to taste and mix well.

  3. Add maida and mix well. Slowly add water and knead well  to form a soft dough.

  4. Add 1 tsp oil and knead again. Set it aside for 8 hours to ferment.

  5. Once the dough is ready after fermentation, mall medium size balls of it.

  6. Roll it evenly in a round shape. You can use dry flour to roll it.

  7. Pour Idhayam Mantra groundnut oil in a frying pan and heat it. Once oil is hot, deep fry the rolled in oil on medium flame until it turns golden colour.

  8. Serve the fried Mangalorean Buns with coconut chutney.
