Rava Ladoo

Ingredients

  • Rava / Semolina / Sooji - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 1 cup (powdered)
  • Ghee / clarified butter - 1/3 cup + 1 tsp
  • Green Cardamom - 2 (powdered)
  • 8 Cashew nuts (broken)
  • 8 Raisins

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tsp of ghee in a pan and roast cashew nuts and raisins on low flame till cashews turn light brown Keep it aside in a bowl.

  2. Now roast the semolina on low flame in the same pan till it starts leaving a nice aroma. Keep stirring as semolina will get burnt easily. It will take 7-8 minutes. Transfer it into a plate.

  3. Heat 1/3 cup cup ghee in the pan now. Once it is hot and melted, remove from the flame.

  4. Add powdered sugar, cardamom powder and roasted semolina into the pan.

  5. Add roasted cashews and raisins and mix it well.

  6. Mix it well with the spatula.

  7. When its warm itself start making small balls of the mix and keep it aside. Once it completely cools down, store it in an air-tight container.

Recipe Notes

 
You can add little warm milk if you feel its too dry and not able to make balls.
You can also add 2 tbsp fresh grated coconut and roast it to add more flavor and aroma.
