Moongphali Bhindi - Peanut Okra Fry

  • 15 Bhindi/okra chopped
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Peanuts
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera/Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Goda masala
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Dry Mango Powder
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • Salt to taste


  1. Dry roast the peanuts for few minutes and let it cool down.
  2. Grind to make a coarse powder.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let it crackle.
  4. Add onion and saute till translucent.
  5. Add green chillies and chopped okra and stir fry for a few minutes.
  6. Add coarsely powdered peanut and mix well.
  7. Add turmeric powder, goda masala, coriander powder, red chili powder,dry mango powder and stir-fry for few more minutes.
  8. Now add salt and mix well. Close the pan with a lid and keep it covered for 2 minutes.
  9. Serve it hot with phulka or rice.
