Makhana kheer

Ingredients

  • Milk - 2 cups
  • Condensed Milk - 200 gm
  • Makhana/Foxnuts - 1 cup
  • Ghee - 2 tsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  • almonds - 6 (sliced)
  • cashews - 6 (broken)

Instructions

  1. Add 1 tsp ghee in frying pan and toss cashews and almonds for a minute and keep it aside in a bowl for garnishing.

  2. Add 1 tsp ghee in frying pan and toss lotus seeds for a minute and crush it lightly with ladle. Keep it aside in a separate bowl.

  3. Add milk in pan and when it starts boiling, add lotus seeds and mix it well. Let it cook for 5-6 minutes on low flame.

  4. Now add condensed milk and let it cook for few minutes. Add cardamom powder & transfer the content in a serving bowl. Garnish it with cashews and almonds.

Recipe Notes

You can also add 1/4 cup of sugar in place of condensed milk.
