I have shared a recipe to make Gulab jamun with milk powder. This time I wanted to try a new variant which is even more easy. These bread gulab jamuns turned out to soft and did not even break once soaked in the syrup.
I used Idhayam Mantra groundnut oil for deep frying bread gulab jamuns. What gives me comfort and happiness is that I’m using traditional, pure and natural groundnut oil. Also known an Peanut oil, it is heart friendly too. The high smoking point of groundnut oil makes it ideal for deep frying. Click here to know more about Idhayam products.

Remove sides of bread. break it and add it in your food processor to powder it.
Add this powder in a mixing bowl. Now milk and combine to form a soft dough. Set it aside for 10 minutes.
Add sugar and 1 cup of water in pan and boil it. Keep stirring for few minutes and remove from flame. No need for string consistency. Add lemon juice, rose essence and keep this sugar syrup ready.
Make smooth and equal size balls from the dough. Make sure there are no cracks.
Heat oil in frying pan. Once oil is hot enough, reduce the flame. Add few balls at a time and deep fry till golden brown in colour. Drain excess oil and drop into the sugar syrup.
