Cauliflower Pepper Fry

Cauliflower is one of the most versatile vegetable and loved by all. I’m sharing a Chettinad style Cauliflower Pepper Fry recipe today. You can easily serve this dish with rice or roti. It is easy to cook and you will love the aroma and taste of pepper, ginger and garlic in it.

Cauliflower Pepper Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 Cauliflower medium sized
  • 10 Onion shallots chopped
  • 6 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 12 Pepper corn crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida/hing

Instructions

  1. Clean and add florets in a pan. Pour 2 cups of water and boil it for 2 minutes. Set aside for 5 minutes and then drain water.

  2. Heat oil in a frying pan.

  3. Add cumin seeds and let it crackle.

  4. Add chopped onion shallots and saute till translucent.

  5. Grind ginger and garlic to make a paste and add it in the pan. Saute nicely.

  6. Now add curry leaves and saute!

  7. Add asafoetida and turmeric. Add cauliflower florets and mix well.

  8. Stir fry nicely for 5 minutes.

  9. Add crushed pepper corns, salt to taste and mix well.

  10. Add little water and close the pan. Let it cook for 2 minutes.

  11. Mix gently and serve.
